I think I finally understand the expression "shoot yourself in the foot"
Yes, it's a giant cliché, but I never really got it until today when I started to think about it.
I guess what it's trying to imply is that once you shoot yourself in the foot, you can't go anywhere. Physically, you can't move forward. You're stuck where you are and you can't go where you want to due to your foot bleeding out.
Hmmmm.
